On-Demand Video/Over-the-Phone Interpreter

Job Summary:

The On-Demand Video/Over-the-Phone Interpreter will be responsible for providing accurate and timely interpretation services to clients in a variety of settings. This position will primarily involve interpreting over the phone or via video conferencing software, and may require the interpreter to work in a fast-paced, on-demand environment. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in interpretation, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services over the phone or via video conferencing software
• Interpret conversations and communications between clients and various parties, such as doctors, lawyers, and government officials
• Assist clients with language barriers during important appointments, meetings, or events
• Ensure that interpretation services are delivered accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide high-quality interpretation services
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
• Manage scheduling and administrative tasks as necessary

Requirements:

• Fluency in English and at least one other language (Spanish, Mandarin, French, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proven ability to provide accurate interpretation services in a fast-paced, on-demand environment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Experience with interpreting over the phone or via video conferencing software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with medical, legal, or government terminology is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in interpretation, translation, or a related field is preferred
