Job Summary:
The Educational Translator will be responsible for providing accurate and timely translation services for an educational setting. The Translator will be responsible for translating a wide range of documents and materials, including classroom materials, administrative documents, and communication with parents and students. The Educational Translator must have exceptional language skills in both the source language and target language and have a deep understanding of the cultural nuances of the languages being translated.
This position is a remote, on-demand position.
Responsibilities:
- Translate educational materials, such as handouts, and other classroom materials, from the source language to the target language
- Translate administrative documents such as student transcripts, enrollment forms, and school policies
- Translate communication between teachers, administrators, students, and parents
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure translations are accurate and culturally appropriate\
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with privacy regulations
- Stay up-to-date on the latest language usage, terminology, and cultural trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field
- Fluency in the source language and target language (e.g. English to Spanish)
- Strong writing and editing skills in both languages
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience in translation in an educational setting
- Knowledge of educational terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with translation software and tools is a plus
